Hi Everyone,
Last week Mum and Dave came again for a few days. They arrived Monday afternoon and went home Thursday. We had a nice trip up to Mountsorrel and they stayed in the Riverbank B & B there Tuesday night. Wednesday morning we had to get back to MGM so they could do a few last minute jobs on the boat before the IWA show. As we have come to expect it was pissing down with rain again!
We had a slight altercation with a chap who said we left without him at Sileby lock. None of us actually saw him until he appeared on the bank calling Ken names! Anyway Ken and I apologised and said we hadn’t seen him. I offered to wait at the next lock but he said he would go past us.
When we got to the next lock we waited for him but he buggered about under the bridge (on purpose) for 5 mins then said he wasn’t coming. As soon as we started filling the lock he drew right up to it so anyone passing would think we had gone without him deliberately!
At the final lock he was behind us again but still didn’t come in with us and a man waiting to go the other way asked Mum if we had just missed this chap. She explained what had happened whereupon the aforementioned chap came past (pretending to talk on his mobile phone) and had a real go at Mum for talking about him!
It was all rather unpleasant. However people like him are few and far between on the cut so hopefully we won’t have to put up with that kind of thing too often!
I hope they enjoyed their visit, despite the best efforts of our ‘friend’ to spoil it!
