Monday 19th March
It’s been a really nice day today. After 2 wet days it has been dry and mostly sunny although the breeze was a bit chilly. I took advantage of the nice weather to clean up the mud which had accumulated in the cratch and indoors over the last few days. At the very mention of the word hoover Ken buggered off to the shop for a paper.
As soon as I started getting the mats, etc out of the cratch George decided he wanted to sit up there on his cushion in the sun. I had to hook the lids of the steps up to stop him from getting up there until I had finished. I hoovered and mopped indoors and then, on his return, Ken did his best to bring most of the mud back in again! What with him and George I am fighting a losing battle with cleanliness!
As it was so pleasant and as he had not been out for a while, later on we took George for a walk in to the village and went to The Red Lion. We took under 10 minutes to get there by ourselves yesterday but with George today we took 25 minutes, bless! He seemed to enjoy the walk though. B and B joined us at the pub a bit later, for the first time since we have been together (they are so abstemious!) and we had a good discussion about the forthcoming trip on the Thames. We are all really looking forward to it.
Tomorrow we are going on to Norton Junction.
