Monday 2nd July
Our journey back to Mercia Marina is nearly over as today we have travelled 11.5 miles and 6 locks from Alrewas to Willington. We arrived at about 2 pm in pouring rain having left Alrewas at 9 am in dry and fairly bright conditions and managed to get moored up right on the end just through the bridge. George was delighted to find he only had to do a short walk to get to the Dragon!
We are going to stay here until Wednesday as we are taking George to see the vet Wednesday morning and we are right near the bus stop here so it will be relatively easy to get him there. It will save us trying to get a lift or a taxi from the marina.
We are going to go up and see Robert at the marina tomorrow to sort out a suitable berth for being able get George to the bank. He is walking fairly well at the moment but this may not always be the case of course.
I am also going to go to the doctors (again) and see if I can get myself sorted out!
