Another Day at Aynho

Thursday 18th April

It was another late start today, we are getting worse and worse at getting up in the morning! However, as we didn’t really have anything much to do it didn’t matter.

After breakfast I phoned Adam at Thrupp C C to let him know exactly when we would be arriving there next week. He is going to keep an eye on the boat while we are away. Then I spent an hour on the phone to my brother, information gathering. During this time Ken was constructing a rather delicious pork casserole for tonight’s dinner.

Lunchtime we went for a walk to Aynho Weir lock and had a look at the river, then we walked back to the wharf for a paper. Obviously we had to go in The Great Western as well, as we were so close!

I did have half an idea that I would clean the other side of the boat this afternoon but the weather conspired against me. As well as the gale force winds there were also some very sharp showers so I had a bit of a kip (don’t know why I was tired, I haven’t done anything) and read my book instead.

I think we are moving on to Upper Heyford tomorrow.
