Wednesday 1st May
It has been a lovely day today with Spring well and truly sprung. This morning we went off to Heyford Wharf to collect our generator part and new bolt along with some fire rope, free range eggs and a newspaper. We returned to the boat where Ken fixed the generator, which is just as well because with all this lovely weather I have accumulated the European Ironing Mountain once more!
By the time he had finished it was about 11-30 am and we decided not to move on today. We want to stop at Aynho for a few days – a) to get our rattle sorted out (we decided not to ask at Heyford because they are busy getting their hire boats ready for this weekend) and b) because we like it there. With this in mind we decided to go to Banbury on the train for an extra food stocking session at Morrison’s. I also had a couple of things I wanted to return to Bon Marche.
The train went at 11-58 am and took about 15 mins to get there. No ticket collector appeared so we didn’t pay. We told someone when we got off but he didn’t seem bothered so what can you do? We did pay on the way back and 2 singles was nearly as much as 2 returns anyway!
So it’s next stop Aynho.
