Sunday 8th and Monday 9th September
We have had a very productive and pleasant couple of days at Trent Lock. Ken has painted the back hatch cover again. We did paint it (rather unsuccessfully) about 2 years ago in Middlewich, when the sun came out in the afternoon and the paint all bubbled up! It looks a lot better now. He has also rubbed down some rust patches and bubbles on the roof and painted over them. And he has painted over the patches I had primed and undercoated on the cabin side about 6 months ago! We still have a long way to go with all our exterior maintenance but it’s a start!
I have tidied the bow lockers which had become so disorganised even I couldn’t find anything in them! I also did some interior cleaning and cleaned the windows. Today we also went to the launderette which is conveniently situated next to The Bell so we had somewhere to wait for the washing to finish!
Tomorrow we are all (yes Mick and Cathy changed their minds again and they are still here) off back to Weston. It is handy Mick and Cathy are still here because that means we can share the 5 locks tomorrow.
Mick is going to go lake fishing at Weston again on Wednesday and Ken and I are going to move on to Swarkestone.
