Wednesday 25th September
Today has been a day for pottering. It was raining when we got up and this continued most of the morning. I did the European ironing mountain and Ken had a look at the new inverter. There were a couple of things he wanted to get advice about before he attempted to swap it himself so he decided to put up the new bedroom lights instead. And he put one of the old bedroom lights under the cabinet in the bathroom.
Lunchtime was spent in the usual way, ie at the pub! Cathy came with us as Mick had gone to Stafford on the bus – in search of Cyclamens (don’t ask!) We were sitting outside the pub when the bus came and he didn’t get off it. We assumed he was catching a later one when a car pulled up and Ken made a joke about him getting a lift. Would you believe, seconds later another car pulled up and he had indeed got a lift not only back from Stafford but this woman had taken him there as well! And not only that, she had also taken him to a nursery to get his Cyclamens when he was unable to get them in the town. Priceless!
Tomorrow we are all off to Penkridge. Ken and I were always going there because we are going back down to Gloucester but Mick has changed his mind yet again and instead of their revised plan to go up the T and M to Stone and on to Stoke are now going up the Langollen again, as Mick wanted to in the first place.
