Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th October
We did do some useful things yesterday before we went to the Docker’s Club to watch the football, I sanded down and varnished the dinette table and Ken resealed round the back of the kitchen sink and tightened up the pipes under the sink.
When we were at the Docker’s Club we met a Welsh couple who were staying there in their camper van (along with a lot of other camper vans). We had a nice chat with them and missed most of the football! Anyway we’re not mentioning the football after the weekend performances of our respective teams, aaargh!
We had just got back to the boat when there was suddenly a rather spectacular storm, the canal started to resemble the sea as the wind got up, the rain and hail lashed down and there were a couple of big claps of thunder.
After this it turned out to be a rather nice evening though with a lovely full moon. Ken did some more (unsuccessful) fishing. I polished my brass including the companion set, the tiller and the tiller pin.
Today we have come back to Saul Junction and moored near the facilities so I could do a couple of loads of washing. Lunchtime we went to the Bell at Frampton where it was very busy and very noisy. Not only was there a lot of people in there today but the jukebox seemed to be really loud as well. At one point we had to shout at each other to hold a conversation! Fortunately all the music that was playing was music that we liked so that was ok!
This evening there has been another aborted fishing session, too windy. Talking of which we are going to see what the weather is doing before we decide what we are going to do tomorrow.
