The Past Week – Many Trips Up The Bristol Rd!

Tuesday 10th December

Since last I posted we have become intimately acquainted with the Bristol Rd! Having already been up there, to A & D Marine, last Monday for the immersion heater, we went up there, to A & D Marine again, on Wednesday collect the treads I had ordered. We went back, to A & D Marine yet again on Thursday to take the new inverter in to be checked as it doesn’t seem to be working properly. During these visits I also became intimately acquainted with their customer loo as I seemed to need to go every time we got there!

As if that many walks up the Bristol Rd weren’t enough we did another one up there today, this time to suss out some car hire places. It’s not a very inspiring walk but the return journey along the canal from Hempstead Bridge, which we did a couple of times, is quite nice. It’s a good 3 mile round trip which ever way you go so it is good for us anyway! And when the inverter has been looked at we will have to go up there again to get that back.

Other highlights of the past week include – a very pleasant lunchtime in Café Rene last Thursday, purely for research purposes! Watching football in The Tall Ship on Saturday. Shopping in Sainsbury’s, twice. Emptying the loo, twice. Incidentally, you know the dodgy padlock on the gate to the elsan? Well, I forgot to say that before we went to Southampton I wrecked it completely. As I banged it to get it to open it totally fell to bits! I had to cobble it back together and then go to the lock to tell the CRT person what I had done. Anyway, there is now a shiny new padlock on the gate to the elsan so, hoorah!

I have done a bit of cleaning. Ken has done a bit of fishing. In fact just the usual routine stuff!

Tomorrow we have 10 bags of coal being delivered, the excitement is too much!
