Friday 7th March
Being satisfied that our new inverter was working correctly we left the boat yard at Hempsted and travelled the very short distance to Gloucester and are moored by the lightship. We are awaiting a call from the gas man to inform us of when he will be doing our regulator. Meanwhile we continue to cook everything on the hob or else one of us has to keep our finger on the knob (as it were!) to make the oven stay on.
After a wet start the weather has been lovely today, really Spring like. Hopefully it will continue to be nice and we can address certain painting and maintenance jobs which need doing. We have a few weeks until we can leave here so it would be a good opportunity to get things done. However, knowing us all will fall by the wayside as we persue other interests (fishing and going to the pub most likely) instead!
Talking of fishing, Ken really excelled himself with his multi tasking capabilities this afternoon as he was fishing from the cratch (for pike/zander) and the kitchen hatch (for roach/bream) and preparing the veg for dinner tonight all at the same time!
If the weather is nice tomorrow we may have to do something useful.
