Monday 17th March – Wednesday 19th March
Monday we made our way back to Gloucester and moored in our favourite place by the lightship. Now that Spring is fully underway the seagull population in the docks has woken up with a vengeance. They wheel about squawking and crapping on the boat all day! I’m not cleaning it up until we go down the canal though!
Since we moored up we seem to have been doing nothing but shopping! Ken wanted new walking boots so on Tuesday we went to Mountain Warehouse where he found what he wanted. While we were in there I somehow gained a waterproof coat, a pair of trousers and a t shirt!
We took that lot back to the boat and set off again for the market where we got olives, cherry peppers, sun dried tomatoes, basil and a nice piece of cod, not necessarily to be eaten all together!
Today we have been up to the DIY shop in Bristol Rd for more replacement cupboard door handles. We have already done the wardrobe ones and eventually I want to change the whole lot but they only had 4 of the ones I want so we got those for the kitchen cupboards and the drawer. They are a fairly standard type so hopefully we will be able to pick up the rest from elsewhere. On the way back we went to Sainsbury’s for a few essentials (beer).
We are supposed to be moving on tomorrow but it is so windy and is forecast to be worse tomorrow we may not be able to go.
