Monday 10th May.
We have, with some regret, left the lovely Caldon Canal and returned to the T and M. We had a really relaxing 9 days travelling to Froghall and back and will certainly do it again. The Leek Arm will reopen soon so we can do that bit as well next time.
There was a slight hold up at Ivy House lift bridge this morning, where running repairs were being carried out but other than that it was a good trip and we are now at Festival Park in Stoke on Trent. We are conveniently moored right by the Toby Carvery and jolly nice it was this evening too, especially for only £5-25 each!
The retail park is not too far away either so it’s been shopping time! You will be pleased to hear I am now fully up and running again in the photographic equipment department, having visited Comet this afternoon. Morrison’s is also fairly near, as we discovered after we had been to Comet so we came back like a couple of laden donkeys! We’ll need another trip there (for the beer!) and we must to go to Pets At Home so tomorrow could be another shopping extravaganza. Then we will be on our way to the Harecastle tunnel.
I haven’t taken any new photos yet. Well, you all know what Comet and Morrison’s look like don’t you?
