Not much to report today. We were woken at about 6-30 am by some fishermen talking rather loudly. And they must have been talking loudly because we could hear them from the other side of the very wide river, over the noise of the water rushing down the weir!
Ken spent quite a bit of time this morning sorting out his fishing gear which he managed to make into a birds nest last night! And I didn’t do anything which could be remotely described as useful this morning!
We walked to the Bromley again at lunchtime and sat outside in the sun again. When we returned Pete and his wife were moored near us. This Pete being the one who has a cruiser, who moors at Gunthorpe and who bought our inflatable off us last year, as opposed to the Pete who has a narrow boat and who moors at Thurmaston.
We stopped for a chat before he started pressure washing is canopy. As soon as he started someone wanted to get in and use the tap obviously. It’s always busy on the river at the weekends and there were a lot of boats about this afternoon, of all shapes and sizes.
Ken has been fishing this afternoon and evening but I haven’t had the call to attend with the camera yet!
Tomorrow we are going to Newark.
