And back to Sawley Marina.

Yesterday we made the short trip from Derwent Lock to Sawley Marina where we will be based for a few weeks while we go to a bbq in Essex to visit Ken’s family and then while we go home to East Anglia to visit mine. And also to see Peter.

We have quite a bit of post cruise sorting out to do before we go away on 15th July. This morning we went off to Long Eaton for several really interesting purchases including – large heavy duty cable ties, a rubber seal, a pint of maggots and 2 litres of red Dulux Weathershield. Bet you are wondering what on earth we are going to do with all those!

While we were doing this fascinating shopping Brian was getting a wash and brush up at Swingers (strange name for a Hand Car Wash) to rid him of 3 months worth of accumulated grime. We were pleased to find that he started first time after being left all that while.

Then it was back to the boat to drop these things off before going out again, this time to Asda at Sinfin. On the way back we popped in to Ragley Boat Stop to see Mick and Cathy who are still moored up there and had a catch up with them.

So it’s dull boring stuff now (cleaning etc) and no photos to speak of (except a baby coot today) I expect until we go away at the end of next week.
