We are now\u00a0just above Kegworth Deep Lock. We have come a whole 6 miles from Loughborough! I have to say in this freezing weather we are finding 3 hours on the back of the boat is enough! <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #808080;\">We would have braved the cold and gone on to Trent Lock today (another 3 miles, 4 locks and about 2 hours) but the river level\u00a0here is in the red again and it started to snow quite heavily when we got here. We\u00a0went to look at the shallow lock about half a mile downstream\u00a0to see what the levels were like after that. George came along eagerly in the hope that there would be a handily situated pub &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;..and lo and behold the &#8216;Anchor&#8217; hoved into view! It would have been churlish not to patronise them! A very nice pub full of,\u00a0the OAP Lunch Club and a group of, disgustingly attired, cyclists of a certain age!
