It has been a lovely day today, bright and calm if a little chilly. We have travelled 5.5 miles and 4 locks from Barrow to Syston and are moored outside the Hope and Anchor.<\/p>\n
We stopped at Sileby Mill for coal, water and to empty the loo. While we were there we purchased yet another new chimney.<\/p>\n
This time we have gone for a stainless steel one, at great expense, but we are not sure it will last any longer than the previous ones! We bought the last one not even a year ago. In fact we have had at least one new chimney every year since we bought the boat. We live in hope that this one will be longer lasting.<\/p>\n
This evening we have been for a steak at the Hope and Anchor which, unfortunately, was not as good as the steaks we have had there in the past, so we were a bit disappointed. Luckily it wasn’t expensive.<\/p>\n
Tomorrow we are going to walk to Thurmaston via the water park and see Barry and Barbara.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
