Thursday 6th May.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just when you thought it was safe – I have got an internet connection in Cheddleton! We are moored in a different place to where we\u00a0were the other day when we were here\u00a0and there is a signal. There is no TV reception here though. In fact we haven’t been able to watch TV since we were at Milton last Sunday. Not that we’ve missed much.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today started off a bit wet but we needed to go to a shop and as there isn’t one in Froghall we had to move. It soon stopped raining but never really brightened up and it was quite cold this afternoon. I’ve got\u00a0a different brand of\u00a0coal and haven’t really got to grips with it yet. Last night we were absolutely sweltering, it was 30 degrees in here!\u00a0Then during the day\u00a0today the fire went out all together so I had to relight it! <\/span><\/p>\n

It was a pity the fire went out because we were freezing when we got back\u00a0from sitting outside the Red Lion for an hour with George! Apart from the usual crisps he\u00a0had another couple of\u00a0things at the pub to occupy him. Firstly he found a football which, had\u00a0I let him, he would have set about destroying. The only place I could find to put it out of his way\u00a0was up on a wall\u00a0where, unfortunately,\u00a0he could still see it.\u00a0However, he could\u00a0not reach it and he spent ages jumping up and down and trying to climb up the wall after it. Then he discovered some bread, also just out of his reach, which had been put out for the resident chickens. He also spent some time trying to get that!<\/span><\/p>\n

There are still very few boats on the move on the canal. I don’t know if it is always like this or if it gets busy in the summer. It has certainly been a very peaceful week!<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
