First Two weeks…….A Bit Hectic!

Hi everyone,

Blimey, how time flies! We’ve been aboard nearly 2 weeks now and it’s gone really fast!

We have had a few ‘teething’ problems (well quite a lot actually but I won’t bore you with all of them!) they are nearly all sorted now, thank god. The worst of which was when the cratch cover fitter drilled through the water pump wire and left us with no running water for the weekend! It was like camping, getting buckets of water and heating the kettle for a wash! Fortunately our mooring is right near the water point so we had easy access to the hose!

Despite the problems we have managed to get out on a few trips. Last week Mum and Dave, Tony and Trish and Alison and Steve came up for a couple of days which was fun. The first day we went up to Cossington in beautiful weather but by the time we had made the lunch it was pissing down (as usual!) so we all had to squeeze in to the boat for the return trip. Mum knocked the chimney hat off with her umbrella so we had to get a new one (which is screwed on now!) but apart from that it all went really well. I think they enjoyed it. The second day the river level was in the red so we didn’t go out on the boat and retired hurt to the pub (as you do!)

Yesterday Julian and Darren arrived to pick up our car. We had a little trip up to Junction Lock and back to the Hope and Anchor (a very handy pub for us!) for dinner. After which everyone (except me) exceeded the stated dose and there were casualties! Ken fell asleep sitting on the dinette, slid off onto the floor and damaged his ribs! He spent the rest of the night moaning about them, keeping me awake. Currently Julian has had to go back to bed with the mother of all hangovers! Darren has gone home.

Oh it’s all good fun here! You will notice some signwriting photos have appeared in the gallery. I resized these on the old computer before I left. I am still struggling with the rest but will do my best to get them on soon.

More soon. Cheers B.
