Friday 8th July
So, here we are moored on the Dane Aqueduct – at the bottom of Bosley Locks. Yes I know I said we would be going up the locks today and we couldn’t really afford to delay further, well we haven’t and we have.
This morning started wet (again) but we set off anyway. We stopped for water and it was still raining and the wind was getting gusty. We decided if it was still raining when we got to the bottom of the locks we would stay on the aqueduct and definitely go up the locks tomorrow. And here we are. We are such fair weather boaters!
The rain and wind continued on and off, well more on than off actually, until late afternoon and it is now quite a pleasant evening but too late to tackle Bosley. We are thinking Gurnett tomorrrow (if there’s room), Higher Poynton on Sunday (if there’s room) and Marple on Monday (if there’s room). If not – who knows?
