Thursday 7th July
This morning when it was overcast and windy and the forecast was for rain we made the decision to stay here today, go in to town for a couple of things we need and move on to Bosley Locks tomorrow. However the rain only manifested itself in 2 short not very heavy showers and the wind has dropped completely. We are left wondering if we have shot ourselves in the foot and tomorrow’s weather will turn out to be worse!
As we want to be in Marple on Monday and with our preferred travelling rate, ie. not very far or very fast, staying here another day is not really an option for us, so we will have to go tomorrow even if the weather is appalling! However, I have done Bosley in torrential rain before, so there.
As it happened our shopping trip in to Congleton was not entirely a success either as we were unable to obtain either of the items we went for. We managed to come back with a ruck sack full of other stuff but as I said not what we went for in the first place. Such is life.
