Friday 15th July
We are now back at Marple after taking Peter down to Bugsworth and back. The weather, which has just taken a turn for the worse by the way, has been absolutely gorgeous and I think he really enjoyed it. He went home this morning at some God forsaken hour!
Later we took George for his injections. Considering it was early (for him) he did really well getting to the vets with 5 minutes to spare! When we weighed him we found he had lost a kilo in weight too, bonus. The vet looked at his eyes and as we suspected he is getting cataracts but apart from that he is hale and hearty, bless him.
Tomorrow, in spite of the terrible forecast (wet and windy), we have to go as we will have been here for the 48 hours allowed and the diesel boat wants to move in here, from the water point, when we go. We will take a look at Higher Poynton or Fourlane Ends again. I have cleaning I can do so I won’t have to be outside anyway!
The prop is still whining despite Ken’s best efforts with the rasp, which incidentally is nearly worn smooth! He did try to tie a plastic bag round the shaft as the whining stops when one accidentally gets round there but he nearly got stuck down the weed hatch so we have abandonned that idea! I’m sure RCR don’t get many calls to remove large husbands from weed hatches!
