Sunday 18th September
We have now come another 13 miles and 5 lift bridges (the last 2 were shut just as we got to them by the hire boaters in front, bless!) from Grindley Brook to Ellesmere, taking 5 hours. We got up at 6-30 am and left just before 8 am so we would get here a decent time to meet Mick and Cathy. However, when I texted and said we were here they texted back and asked us where we will be on Tuesday! We will be at the Lion Quays on Tuesday so we can meet them there, or not as the case may be. It doesn’t matter to us, we’re going there any way!
As we were coming here anyway and we had a good trip. By leaving so early we avoided the later traffic and got here in time to go to the pub and watch the football. It was Liverpool (popular round these parts) and Spurs (popular in Tottenham) and the pub was full of Liverpool supporting lads. Liverpool were rubbish, lost 4-0 and had 2 players sent off, so the lads were not happy bunnies, aaah!
B and B didn’t come with us today and are moored at Bettisfield. As we are staying here tomorrow they will catch up again I expect. We are going to do a Tesco shop and take George out as he didn’t go today, he was too tired after yesterday, bless.
