Still in Banbury – George has another trip to the vets!

Monday 18th June

After our few days in Banbury we had intended leaving this morning but we had to take George to the vets again. He was coming along nicely with his previous ailments but yesterday, for no apparent reason, his ‘elbow’ suddenly swelled up and went very hard. It hadn’t gone down this morning so we arranged for him to go to the vets again.

He had to be sedated while the vet had a look at him so we left him there and picked him up until this afternoon. The vet was at somewhat of a loss as to what was wrong with him as there was no fluid to draw off the swelling. He took some samples and sent them away to be tested, he will phone us with the results. So poor old George is now on anti-inflammatory medicine as well as the antibiotics. Hopefully he will be ok.

All this worry about George hasn’t done me any good at all and I am feeling crap again, especially in the mornings. The doctor here at the walk in centre was really nice but couldn’t help me a lot. However, we have decided to go back to Willington for a while to consolidate. Hopefully I can get some blood tests done there and if George needs further veterinary treatment we can take him to see Mr Payne. Ken says – who would have thought he, Ken, would be the fittest one out of the three of us?

On a lighter note (literally) I have had my hair cut at last so that was a weight off my mind! At least when I get back to Willington, Judith (my hairdresser) won’t have a fit when she sees me!
