Tuesday 26th and Wednesday 27th March
Yesterday we went for a walk round and sussed out another couple of bus stops for future reference. The bridge over the junction was still lethal and I slithered down the other side rather faster than I would have liked! On our way up Ironbridge Rd we met Alfie, a lovely, white Bull Terrier. He was gorgeous and mad as a box of frogs. We had a long chat with his owner.
We returned via The Greyhound (obviously) and had an interesting time watching people negotiating the junction turning in the stiff breeze. There was also an incident with the wood burner and at one point the whole place filled with thick, noxious smoke!
When we returned to the boat I asked Ken to get a bag of coal off the roof. Did he want any help I enquired? He said no so I went in. There was a cry and I went back out to find him sprawled on the tow path with the bag of coal on top of him! Fortunately he was ok so I allowed myself a little titter!
Today we have been to Nuneaton for the 3rd time (£6 day ticket on the de Courcey 778) for yet more shopping. It was a bit warmer than it was when we were there on Sunday. It was market day and we got a fabulous piece of haddock for dinner. We also got more plastic containers, you can never have too many! We went to Asda – again and Wetherspoons – again. This trip is getting a bit repetative!
As the weather is looking settled, ie not getting any better (or any worse) we are thinking about moving on soon. Maybe not tomorrow as I want to do some more washing while we are in close proximity to the tap!
