Day at Braunston – Trip to Rugby

Tuesday 2nd April

Nothing very exciting to report today I’m afraid. There was no ice on the canal again this morning, wonders will never cease. It was a beautiful sunny morning as well, we really should have taken advantage of it and cruised. However, we had already decided to go to Rugby so that’s what we did.

I had to get new walking boots because a hole had appeared in the top of one of mine and as I seem to wear practically nothing else on my feet (all year round) they needed replacing forth with. We also thought a trip to Asda wouldn’t go amiss. We caught the No 10 bus from near the church, the fare was £4-70 for me. I got a pair of boots in Milletts and Ken got a couple of nice sweatshirts, half price in the sale, while we were in there.

It was really warm in the sun and out of the wind today and you really could believe it may be spring at last! Hopefully it will be just as nice tomorrow because we are off again, to Napton.
