Thursday 25th April
Today was another bright and breezy day and really muggy too. Pity the weather is going to go tits up for the weekend as we are going to the wedding. I’ll have to hide a pair of leggings and a vest under my outfit!
After the ironing and packing this morning we walked to Kidlington. We went along the tow path to bridge 228, which is about 2 miles from where we are moored and then another half a mile in to the shopping area. We popped in to Tesco’s for a few bits for dinner tonight then we went to The Black Horse, a Greene King pub and had a couple of very nice Old Speckled Hens. This is more of an eating pub but according to the bar man and a notice on the door, the kitchen was closed UFN. However, while we were there several people had meals – where they came from I have no idea!
We walked back to the boat along the road to bridge 224 and then down the tow path again which was only about a mile and a half, a round trip of about 4 miles altogether then.
So tomorrow we are off to Oxford and then to Southampton for the wedding.
