Monday 14th April
Yesterday was spent doing bugger all really. Well, we did go to Morrison’s and stock up a bit. Then we went to Wilko’s and I got a new memory card for my camera which has fixed the problem, hoorah! After this we went to The Star and Garter to watch the football and sample some more of their very acceptable Adnam’s. Would have been churlish not to!
After a very pleasant weekend in Droitwich it was time to move on so this morning after getting water by joining together our two hoses to avoid having to move on to the water point we set off. We have travelled the remaining 5 miles and 8 locks of the Droitwich Barge Canal. This took 3.5 hours as the canal is not one you can go very fast on and half the locks were set against us and they were pretty hard to operate too! We then went a further 3.5 miles and one lock (manned) on the Severn and are moored at the Lenchford Inn at Shrawley, which took another 1.5 hours.
As we are using the pub moorings we are going in for a meal later. Tomorrow we are off to Stourport once more. Have heard that Tardebigge will be open this afternoon about 5pm but it’s too late for us now we have made other plans. That’s what boating is all about.
