Today has been mostly wet so it was a good plan of ours to go off to Stafford on the bus. This cost £6-20 for me, aaargh! Since we last went to Stafford from here in 2011 the fare has gone up exactly £1.
Today was the last day the Arriva 88 service was going to operate on this route. I don’t know who has the contract for it now but some of the passengers on the bus had the new timetable and were complaining about it not being as good.
When we arrived in Stafford we first went to Sainsbury’s, as it is right near the bus stop where we got off the bus and got a few things to tide us over until we get to Market Drayton. Then Ken went to the fishing tackle shop. As we both had large rucksacks full of shopping and as the fishing tackle shop is rather snug I had to sit on a bench, outside, in the rain and look after Ken’s rucksack while he went in there, to avoid a potential display dislodging incident!
After this we went to Boot’s to stock up on ‘buy one get one half price’ hay fever medicines as hay fever season is imminent! Obviously we also went in the Wetherspoon’s and were pleasantly surprised to find Adnam’s Broadside on.
Tomorrow is due to be wet again but we have to move so we will be off to Norbury Junction.
