Willington to Shobnall Fields – Back on the move again.

Today we have travelled about 5 miles and 1 lock from Willington to Shobnall Fields in Burton. It was pretty cold when we left with a bit of a frost but it was a pleasant enough trip. I kept plying Ken with coffee and soup along the way.

After we moored we walked in to town for a few bits of shopping. We were going to go to Motor Mania (or whatever it’s called) the car accessory shop for a new alternator belt but we passed a small car accessory shop near the station so we called in there and got what we needed.

Ken was going to go to the fishing tackle shop for maggots but he didn’t bother in the end. He’s still recovering from a cold/chest infection and doesn’t fancy sitting outside fishing at the moment!

We also met Mick and Cathy in the Wetherspoons (where else!) Mick has ‘man flu’ so he was a bit grumpy today, bless.

The weather has now taken a turn for the worse and it is now blowing a gale. There are waves on the canal! We are going to stay here until Friday when we are going to move to Branston.
