Shobnall Fields to Branston – Nice day for it.

Today we have travelled all of 1.5 miles and 1 lock from Shobnall to Branston. We stopped at Shobnall Marina for anti freeze, one more cupboard door handle and to fill with water and use their elsan facility.

We needed anti freeze because someone (who shall remain nameless but was probably me) made too big a fire during the windy period (when it was difficult to control the draw) and boiled the central heating header tank over, losing all the water and anti freeze!

After all the wet and windy conditions of the last few days it was a very pleasant day to cruise today. There was no wind and the sun even put in an appearance, which was good news for our solar panels.

We moored in our favourite place at Branston and as of the present time are completely on our own. We did see 3 other boats on the move this morning but that was all.

We walked up to Morrisons ostensibly for a paper and some yoghurt but still managed to fill a rucksack with other stuff (as we do) and Ken was whinging about the weight of it!

Of course we stopped at the Blacksmith’s Arms on the way back (so he could rest, why else?) and were pleased to discover that they now have Sky Sports.

We will be here for a few days now.
