Drizzly Day in Crick

Today has been wet – all day! This morning we got up late (again) and just titted about really. We walked to the Coop for a few bits and returned to the boat. We titted about again for a while (crosswords etc) then walked back to the village for our usual visit to the pub.

There are 3 pubs in Crick, The Red Lion which is a nice pub but very foodie. We happened to be in there one Mother’s Day which was highly entertaining I seem to recall. There is The Wheatsheaf which is our favourite and The Royal Oak.

We have never been to The Royal Oak so we went off to find it. And we did find it – closed!  On Good Friday lunchtime, what’s that all about? It looked like a nice pub and as we left the dray turned up so it is still operational, just not today. Anyway, we returned to The Wheatsheaf and had a few pints of Peaky Blinder which was very acceptable.

This afternoon we have slobbed about watching tv and stuffing our faces with hot cross buns! Tomorrow we are going to Rugby on the bus.
