Rainy Day – Maintenance and Packing

In total contrast to yesterday, which was sunny and warm, today has been cold and wet. In fact when we got up I instantly regretted my decision not to relight the fire last night, it was seriously chilly and I soon lit it again!

Ken has rewired the 12v tv this morning using thicker wiring for reasons that are totally beyond me but necessary. He has also put even more pressure in the pressure valve for the water pump which now means it comes on as soon as we put the tap on and goes off as soon as we turn the tap off, brilliant.

I got side tracked whilst packing the toilet bag for our trip tomorrow and ended up totally sorting both the bathroom cupboards. Ken then said he couldn’t find anything, which was a lie because most of it is back exactly where it was before (mind you he always did used to say he couldn’t find anything) and the rest is far more easily accessible! I just ignored him (as usual).

Because we have no electric hook up here as predicted I had to run the engine for a couple of hours this afternoon while I did washing, drying and ironing. I had warned the chap next door that we weren’t on the electric and would have to run the engine when we had a conversation this morning during which he hinted that it was annoying having people running engines for hours on end.

Of course had I have known we wouldn’t have electric I wouldn’t have saved the washing and ironing until we got here I would have done it sooner!

So tomorrow we are off to London to see Ken’s family.
