Day at Etruria

Sunday 20th June

It’s been a glorious day here and we have made the most of it by doing as little as possible! Actually I have cleaned the windows and done the ironing and cleaned the front of the boat, but apart from that…….. not much.

George enjoyed a fairly long walk (for him) to the Toby Carvery at Festival Park lunch time but he was probably wondering why we didn’t moor the boat up outside like last time!

This afternoon Ken has been playing with his alternator regulator. Preliminary results are favourable with the inverter not switching the 240v off until 2-30pm today. As it usually goes off about 2-30am, (and has been known to go off as early as 9-30 pm the same day!) we have gained at least 12 hours worth of charge for the same number of engine running hours. This afternoon we ran the engine for 2 hours instead of the usual 4 hours and we will see what happens later. We would usually expect it to go off about 10pm tonight on 2 hours charging, hopefully it will last a lot longer.

Tomorrow we are going on to Endon where unfortunately there is no internet or tv signal – so no blogging, no footie and no tennis for me! Good job I’ve just started a good book.
