Rugeley to Fradley to Hopwas

Friday 22nd October

Today we had a good trip to Fradley Junction from Rugeley. It was April when we were last there and we had only been out a couple of weeks. We had decided to go up the Coventry for a bit so when we got to Fradley Junction we turned up there. While we were getting water, before mooring up, Mick and Cathy turned up so we all ended up at the Swan obviously!

When Ken and I first got to the pub it was packed with people having lunch so we sat outside, which was ok while the sun was out and ok for me because I had about 5 layers of clothes on! When Mick and Cathy got there it had thinned out a bit inside so we took George in. He was enjoying laying in front of the fire and eating Cathy’s mini cheddars again! He did get a bit vocal when the pub Irish Wolfhound appeared but it soon went away!

Saturday 23rd October

We have just over a week before we have to be at Mercia so we have come up the Coventry from Fradley to Hopwas …………. And so have Mick and Cathy! So it was the usual – outside the Tame Otter. We were really lucky with the weather while we were at the pub because although it had been showery on the way here the sun came out and it was really warm. Just as we were finishing our last drink it started raining again so we high tailed it back to the boat and they high tailed it in to the pub! It has been showery ever since.

Tomorrow we are going to have to go 2 miles to turn round, then we are heading back to Whittington which is where Ken caught his large zander last year. I think he is hoping for a repeat performance.
