Sunday 27th March
Not a very taxing day today, we only had to go 5 miles back to Torksey and descend the lock back on to the Trent. We are moored on the pontoons just below the lock ready for a 7-30am start tomorrow to catch the tide at Keadby.
This morning we lazed about, took himself for a little toddle and got water etc before leaving about 1pm. We were allowed down Torksey lock at 3pm.
We have just read an article in the Towpath paper about Keadby lock being the most dangerous on the system, great! However the disasters only seemed to occur when people arrive there at the wrong time due to bad planning. Ken is not bothered about it and he’ll be driving so that’s ok.
The trip should take about 5/6 hours, I think, so hopefully we will arrive safely at Keadby and go up the lock on to the Keadby and Stainforth canal sometime tomorrow afternoon.
