Monday 21st June
We haven’t really done much today. The coal and diesel barge stopped on their way back this morning and we got diesel, gas (which ran out the day before yesterday) and a large bag of kindling. After they had gone Ken repacked the stern greaser.
We then walked in to Anderton to go to Anderton Marina to see about getting a quote for having our prop replaced. The chap is going to get in touch with our insurance company. I filled in the online claim form so hopefully we wil be able to get the job done soon. We aren’t going to have the boat blacked at the same time as having the prop done because we would not be allowed to stay on the boat in the dry dock at Anderton so it wouldn’t be practical. Some boatyards, such as the one at Stone Cruising Co, do allow you to stay on the boat when it is in dry dock but not Anderton Marina. However, this is not a problem because the blacking doesn’t really have to be done yet, we were just hoping to save a dry dock fee!
On the way back from Anderton it absolutely chucked it down with rain and we got soaked. Tomorrow we are going to Northwich for supplies, including lots of doggy things. And how’s this for lucky? The pet shop is in the same road as the Wetherspoon’s!
