Tuesday 5th July
A longer trip time wise but not length wise today saw us travelling only another 2.5 miles but we did finish the last 12 locks on ‘Heartbreak Hill’ (why they call it that I don’t know we thought it was ok) and leaving the T and M for the Maccie.
It has been a day of stopping and starting. At Red Bull we stopped at the sanitary station and water point. Before we did the last lock on the T and M we stopped again and went to Tesco’s in Kidsgrove. By the time we came out it was raining which was a bit of a pain. We popped in to the Canal Tavern for a couple then moved on again.
As it was still raining and we found a convenient space just over the aqueduct on the Maccie we stopped again. You remember this mooring, it’s between the scrap yard and the sewage works! Just after we got moored up it stopped raining but we decided to stay put until tomorrow when we will probably go to Congleton.
I have paid the boat licence and the insurance today, no wonder my hand was itching!
