Sunday 24th July – Tuesday 26th July
Sorry not to update but the weather has been so nice I have been sitting outside in the evenings instead of blogging! Anyway we are now at Hassall Green where Ken is currently hoping to emulate his fishing success of a few weeks ago. Not much happening so far it has to be said!
Sunday we moved on to Red Bull, stopping in Kidsgrove for a Tesco run on the way and moored beyond the sanitary station. It is not a bad spot there. We took himself up to the pub where we sat gongoozling by the lock in the garden. Later on we sat on the bank enjoying the ‘Summer’!? The people behind us had a barbeque, we just cooked our sausages in the oven, much less hassle!
Monday we went to Rode Heath and partook of their half price grill night again. We had the same as last time – Mixed grill, 10oz rump steak and a bottle of wine, this time it was even cheaper, £19-08, you just can’t turn it down and you can’t cook it yourself for that!
Today we have only come another 2 miles to Hassall Green and stopped here for the reasons already mentioned. As I said, nothing yet. We took himself for a toddle to the Lock 57 Cafe. I only had one bottle of Specked Hen this time after last time, although I did have a sandwich first!
Not sure what we’re going to do tomorrow yet.
