Little Bollington to Higher Walton – (Via Lymm again)

Thursday 9th September

Today we have travelled 9.5 miles from Little Bollington to Higher Walton with a shopping and pub stop over in Lymm, just as we did last time we were on the Bridgewater Canal. This time we filled with water at the tap near Little Bollington because we now know there is no water at Outrighton where we went last time!

We arrived in Lymm about 11-30am and went to the market and to Sainsbury’s which was a Spar shop last time we were there! We then went to The Spread Eagle which is a nice pub, looks like it used to be an hotel, but the barmaid had as much personality as a door! She must have been tired too because when we arrived she was sitting down and after she served us she was resting her head on a cushion on the bar, bless!

After one in the Spread Eagle we decided not to wake the barmaid up to serve us again and went to the Golden Fleece which was where we went last time we were in Lymm. We had a pint of Adnams at a far cheaper price than we would have paid in Southwold!

About 1pm we left to catch up with B and B who had been gone ages and 2 hours later found them moored at Higher Walton.

Tomorrow we are going to Anderton.
