Moved to Middlewich – Waiting for B and B

Saturday 10th September and Sunday 11th September

It was indeed a lovely day Saturday but I didn’t slap any paint on. Instead we went in to Northwich on the bus (remember the very expensive bus fare £4-40 for a 10 minute journey?) and got a few things, which we can’t seem to get elsewhere, from Sainsbury’s. We also went to the market and got a scrubby broom for me to clean the roof with, lucky me! Ken got a couple of polo shirts in the Edinburgh Woolen Mill sale (Pringle, posh!) and as I was in there I managed to get a couple of gilets (you can never have too many gilets!) one of which was only £4-80, not much more than my bus fare! Unfortunately my speed shopping husband had already paid for his purchases before I had a chance to add my things to his bill! We need various other things so we will have to go on another trip somewhere.

When we returned we saw B and B who said they had been to Anderton Marina again to see Danny but he has the weekend off! He didn’t tell them that yesterday. They spoke to the receptionist who said Danny hadn’t got a lot on on Monday so she didn’t think there would be a problem with getting their alternator looked at then.

Today we have moved on to Middlewich, we had been on the 48 hour moorings for 2 nights, not that they were full by any stretch of the imagination and we could probably have got away with staying but we wanted to move before the remnants of the hurricane got here! It was glorious when we left Anderton but that soon changed and it started blowing a gale and slashing down with rain!

When we arrived in Middlewich we moored up on the edge of the park but not under the trees, just in case! We went off to find a pub that was showing the football (Norwich v West Brom). I had already looked in The Big Lock on the way past (we can take George in there) but they were showing the Grand Prix. Most pubs were showing the Grand Prix and we thought if Man U or City had been playing there would have been more chance of finding football on. After trying a few pubs we found The Cheshire Cheese had both on (in separate rooms) so we went in there. Pity Norwich managed to lose, bless!

As we have got to wait for B and B to arrive after they get their alternator fixed, tomorrow we thought we would go to Crewe to get the things we couldn’t get in Northwich yesterday. The weather is supposed to be rubbish so we may as well.
