Tuesday 18th October
Today we have travelled 10 miles and 6 locks from Penkridge to Tixall Wide. It has been quite breezy and pretty cold too but mostly sunny. Ken has been looking forward to getting here because he wanted to do some fishing and intended doing just that this evening. However, a few minutes outside getting ground bait ready convinced him it would be better to stay in here by the fire!
We have 2 weeks before we are booked in the marina and funnily enough we were here at exactly this time last year. It would only take about 5 days to get back to Willington from here really. We spent a couple of days up the Coventry Canal to fill in the time last year but I don’t think we will do that this time, we will probably hang about on the T and M a bit more.
We are about a mile from the pub here so George couldn’t come with us this afternoon, bless. Maybe we will move up to the village tomorrow so he can go.
