Monday 11th June
Here we are still at Thrupp! We were going to leave today but the weather has, once again, been totally shite, with heavy rain all day. In fact it has been raining here since 4 o’clock yesterday afternoon! We have now made 3 trips to Oxford on the bus (Fri, Sun and today) and only one has been dry!
Saturday George was in the mood for a little walk so we took him down to The Boat (not very far) and then back to The Jolly Boatman and he seemed to enjoy it. He was especially pleased with the 2 Bonios he got from the barman!
It was quite a nice day on Sunday (until 4pm as I said) so we went in to Oxford again (as I said) and we had a walk down to the river at Folly Bridge and another walk along the mill stream as well as a look at some of the colleges. I didn’t take any photos though, I thought I just couldn’t capture it.
Today was just a Tesco’s shopping (there is one right near the bus stop) and pub trip to fill in the day really and even with waterproofs and umbrellas we still got drowned! The place was heaving with tourists and it was impossible to keep an umbrella up while walking down the street with all their umbrellas up as well. Funnily enough the top decks of the open topped tour buses were very undersubscribed!
We really have got to move tomorrow as we are in grave danger of running out of water – drinking not rain!
