Thursday 21st March
Today has been bright at times and quite chilly but we have travelled 6.5 miles from Hartshill to Bulkington, which is on the Ashby Canal. We are moored just below Bulking Road Bridge. We got water at the BW maintenance yard at Hartshill and stopped at Valley Cruises in Nuneaton to do the loo and get rid of the rubbish. We also bought (another) chimney and some flue cleaner from the chandlery there.
The forecast for the next few days is absolutely diabolical and we are prepared to stay where we are until it improves. This is not a bad place to hole up for a while, there is a nice pub just over the bridge in one direction and another pub and Spar shop (about 10 mins) in the other direction. There is also a bus stop where we can get a bus to Coventry or Nuneaton.
Hopefully this new arctic blast will not last longer than our water supply!
