Saturday 23rd March
Well, we’ve certainly got snow now, about 4 ins fell over night and it has continued snowing, albeit lightly, nearly all day. We were up late this morning (no change there then) and the weather gave us no incentive to rush outside.
Eventually we decided to walk to the Spar shop, about a mile away, in Whitestone. This seemed to take ages due to the tricky conditions under foot. On the way we were stopped by a taxi driver asking for directions, unfortunately we couldn’t help him!
After a visit to 2 pubs (one of them shut) on the way back, we returned to batten down the hatches once more. When we were crossing the bridge over the canal we spotted a hardy boater actually cruising!
Mind you tomorrow we will be that boater because we are planning to move to Hinckley, must be mad!
