Hopwas to Fradley

Saturday 25th May

This morning M&C left their mooring about 7-30 am, about half an hour before us because they were going to stop at Streethay for diesel. As it happened they actually stopped at Huddlesford for diesel instead. Then they went off in search of two moorings on the Coventry side of Fradley Junction. There were two free spaces as luck would have it and we arrived at Fradley about 20 minutes after them.

After we moored up Ken refilled his stern greaser. Then he did Cathy’s greaser, showing her what he was doing so she now knows how to do it herself. We all then went off to The Black Swan and sat outside ‘gonboozling’!

When Ken and I returned to the boat we had a cup of tea after which one of us fell asleep and one of us cleaned the starboard side, front and back of the boat. I wonder if you can work out who did what! Whilst one of us was cleaning our boat, Mick was cleaning his boat and the chap in front of us started rubbing down his paintwork so it was a hive of activity for a while along here!

This evening we have all been for a meal at The Black Swan. Ken and Mick had the lamb shank, Cathy had the steak pudding and I had the turkey, ham and pork pie, all of which were very good and very reasonably priced.

We have had a lovely few days with M&C and tomorrow they are off on their way back towards Willington ready for Mick to have his operation in a couple of weeks, we wish him well.
