Frampton to Sharpness to Shepherd’s Patch to Saul Junction – Just pubbing, oops I mean pottering!

Sunday 6th to Wednesday 9th October

Basically we have just been pottering about going down to Sharpness and back to Saul via Shepherd’s Patch. Until today, when the North wind got up in earnest, it has been lovely and warm and mostly bright too. Just right for cruising and sitting around outside pubs, as we do!

We have moored in a few different places in the same places we have been before if you get what I mean? No, never mind. We have also identified some other places where we would like to moor up on our next trip down to Sharpness which will probably be after we have been to Gloucester tomorrow for a couple of days. We need some supermarket shopping and I have got to pick up my coat which is being mended. I will definitely need it now this cold weather has arrived!

Yesterday we stopped at Frampton to get some diesel at A P Fuels and the chap’s dog came out to see us with his ball. I was going to throw it for him but he wouldn’t give it to me. However, he would drop it in the water beside the boat and wait while I crept about on  my knees, leaning over the edge to get it out, then he would retrieve it when I threw it and then ……… drop it in again!

This sequence continued all the while we were there! If I went in the boat or walked off he dropped the ball in to the water and just waited until I came back and got it out for him again, bless.

Today we have had our engine serviced by Gordon. He was here for about 3 hours and did a very thorough job, which cost £185. He said our engine was in very good nick which was nice to know. Gordon is a very pleasant chap and we will use him again and recommend him to others.

So, tomorrow it’s off to Gloucester. This blog is getting a bit repetative!
