Tuesday 17th December
Today we have got back into the old routine. This morning we went to Sainsbury’s to stock up after our weekend away. After putting the shopping away we walked in to town by a slightly convoluted route. We first went to the lock to look at the water level. We expected it to be up a bit after all the rain we had over the weekend. Surprisingly it is still very low but that could all change after tomorrow’s promised onslaught.
After this we walked up the road past the Old Customs House and into the bottom of Westgate. It was a lovely sunny day so I took the opportunity to take a photo of the cathedral as we passed it. We have still to revisit the cathedral as we didn’t see all of it when we were here in the Summer because they were getting ready for the Three Choirs competition. We must do that before we leave in the Spring.
We then went to the market and got a nice piece of haddock for us teas! Following this we got some veg and eggs from Woody’s then did the usual visit to the pub. Tomorrow is going to be a wash out according to the weather forecast so I’m not sure what we are going to do.
