Another crack of dawn appearance by the Goffins! Well, we were underway by 7-30am this morning to travel from Shackerstone to the tunnel at Snarestone, through the tunnel to turn round then back through the tunnel and on to Market Bosworth, a trip of 9.5 miles.
It was a rather nice day although it did soon cloud up but it didn’t rain until late this afternoon. We arrived at Market Bosworth about 4 hours after setting out and moored near the new marina. It has not been open long so it is pretty empty. Apparently it is £12 per night including electric for a visitor mooring.
We walked the mile or so from the mooring into town and did the usual (paper and a pint). We went in Ye Olde Red Lion which was a very nice pub but we discovered they charge £2 for a half so my pint (in 2 halves) cost Ken £4, much to his disgust!
We are off to Stoke Golding tomorrow so we can get the bus to Nuneaton for the first leg of the Championship play off final between Norwich and Ipswich, aaargh!
